Gameplay in NBA 2K27 strives to deliver an enhanced experience on both ends of the court. It features new moves and animations, offering expanded customization for your player with more Finishers, Dribbling Styles, Shooting Styles, and Defensive Styles. You can now perform breakdowns while on the move, and shot contests rely on precise timing with the right stick. Defensive cutoffs have also been expanded to cover more gaps and prevent fumbles. Additionally, a new Takeover system featuring 5 Takeovers scales up or down based on your performance, requiring sharper timing and execution during games.
MyPlayer
For the first time, NBA 2K allows you to create female players in the MyPLAYER builder, offering deep customization to play in the WNBA and upgrade specific skills and badges. All 20 badge slots are unlocked once you enter The City, though you must unlock individual badges to equip them. Since you cannot equip every badge simultaneously, finding the right combination for your playstyle is key. Badges can also be fused for stronger boosts. A new Cap Breaker system displays how much each attribute increases once a player reaches a 99+ rating. Finally, three Takeover perks can be unlocked and upgraded by completing challenges.
MyTeam
MyTEAM features a new Play tab with expanded playtypes and modes, along with a revamped player XP system that enhances card abilities over time. If you sell or auction a card and re-acquire it later, you pick up right where you left off without losing progress.
The CITY
The City is fully co-ed for male and female MyPLAYERs, featuring two new hubs: Crew HQ and Casual Corner. Both locations feature updated environments alongside returning seasonal parks. Casual Corner allows players to practice and compete casually against one another, while Crew HQ is a dedicated space to practice with your squad and take on other crews across 6 competitive ranks. The matchmaking places you against 39 other players who will challenge you as you progress through the game.
My NBA
In MyNBA, you can fully customize your franchise story—from managing game schedules and team rosters to creating custom draft classes. You have full control over team compositions and can choose whether to keep current player ratings or reset them to start from scratch.
